Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services - GEMS
The proportion of the aged in society today is greater than ever before, and growing faster than any other segment of our population. Current indications are that approximately 34% of calls for emergency medical services, or 3.4 million emergency responses involve patients over the age of 60. GEMS represents the most credible and complete source of pre-hospital medical information for older adults.

The course manual is provided for essential pre-course reading.
Course assessment includes a practical scenario assessment and a 30 minute written MCQ paper. On successful completion of the course assessments, candidates receive the GEMS certificate valid for three years. The course is accredited for CPD/CME by the American Geriatrics Society.
BLS - 1 day course.
ALS - 2 day course.
Minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 delegates for each practical element of the programme to run.
