Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)


​Course Description

​​​​​​​​​​​This course is for first line managers - those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities.

At the end of the course delegates should be able to:


  1. Understand the health, safety, welfare and environmental issues relevant to their work activities

  2. Understand their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities

  3. Safely supervise activities on a construction site.



During the course projects are undertaken in groups and constantly assessed by the tutor. At the conclusion of the course delegates are required to undertake a short multiple choice assessment. Delegates who successfully complete the projects and assessment are awarded the Construction Skills Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme Certificate (SSSTS).

  • The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and relevant regulations

  • Identification of specific site issues including COSHH and Work at Height etc.

  • Tool Box talks

  • Control of subcontractors

  • Health related issues
